Arizona 2010

Some fun things we did during out trip to AZ this summer:

Went for a walk with the fam in the blistering evening heat. Yuck.
Matt got one of these nasty buggers stuck in his toe. I had to pull it out and got it stuck on my fingers where I still can feel the little spines in there.
We went to the lake and went Jet Skiing. Nick had a great time playing in the water
and driving the Jet Ski all by himself!
And this is how hot it was. Thank goodness we were at the lake!
We went shooting in the wash with my little brother Tory.
Matt showing us how its' done. That's hott!
Nick didn't like the loud guns.
So he wore his headphones and played DJ in the truck.
We tracked down the elementary school that I went to kindergarten at, I never lived in one place for more than 6 months at a time but I remember almost all my schools and stuff that happened at each one.
We also drove around trying to find the house I lived in then but couldn't ever find it. I have a TON of memories from that time in my life and it was neat to see where they took place and what it looks like now.

We went for a quad ride with my Dad and Tory. Halfway through the ride it started to pour on us. It was actually kind of nice and the ride was beautiful. Nick was a trooper too, he didn't like the rain but he didn't cry about being wet and cold and still having to ride all the way back home.
This is my nephew Sean doing a flip into the pool. He is only a little older than Nick and he is CRAZY with his flips and stuff in the pool. Wild Child.

Then on Main Street in Kanab. The city must have reduced their police force due to budget cuts from the poor economy right now. But no worries, people won't be speeding with this guy around!
We did a ton of other stuff too. There were a lot of family things we were able to attend which was great. And we got to visit my bestest friend Amanda and her family. Thank you Dad and Mia for letting us stay with you and play with your toys while we were there. And thank you Amanda for letting us stay with you and drive you crazy for a few days, it was so much fun!

I always love going home to AZ. It will always be my home I think even though I will probably live in Utah for another 20 years. It is where my dear family is and it is where I am from. Not just where I lived but where I came from. Where I was shaped, and molded, and made into the person that I am today. Every time I go home I feel more like myself than I do anywhere else. I feel comfortable and close to my family and I wish that I was with them all of the time so I could have stronger relationships with them and learn more from them. I feel like it's the place that I will always grow the most at and the place where I can reach my full potential in life because I have my amazing family and my friends to look to and learn from everyday. I love your guys and I hope you know that each of you have so many great qualities that I see and I want to be like you in so many ways! Thanks for your examples in my life.

Moab 2010

Um , where have I been? Well we are LOVING our house and have been having a lot of fun I just haven't really brought my camera along to document it. But here are a lucky few pics and there will be more videos to come in a few days.

We went to Moab in May with Nick. That little boy LOVES to camp! And we hiked to Landscape Arch which isn't so much a hike as it is a nice 2 mile walk. Nick did awesome. He walked almost the whole way and loved every minute of it! Now every time he sees a picture of an arch (which are abundant in Utah) he always gets excited and says "There's the arch!" He had a great time getting filthy, jumping on rocks, and watching the lizards and bugs.
Nick getting dirty camping!

My favorite place with my favorite people!
Mesa Arch, Canyonlands NP

Matt desperately wanted to take his truck four wheeling so we started at the top of those far away cliffs and ended up at the river bottoms. I have to admit it was a very pretty albeit bumpy ride!

New Hair

Sometimes when I catch a glimpse of my reflection I think I look like my mom now. Weird.

Cabinets!

Our BEAUTIFUL cabinets are in! These are like Matt and I's favorite part of the whole house. We are SO excited for them.

This is the little desk built in our kitchen. I am pretty sure I will spending a lot of time there!

Angels Landing

My sweet husband admitted to me last week that before he met me he HATED hiking. He thought it was super boring and would much rather mountain bike or something. Funny because we probably went on like 20 hikes last summer/fall!
But supposedly he likes it pretty well now. Not as much as mountain biking, but enough to ask me if I wanted to go hike Angels Landing in Zion. He said I was getting restless and needed to get out and go camping/hiking.
So we went down to Zion and had a great time. We found the sweetest camping spot ever and had such a blast. We scavenged that fire wood ourselves and chopped it up with our mad skills. I actually fell flat on my butt in the middle of all the wood trying to break some of it up. Matt did a good job of not laughing until he made sure I was going to be okay.
Angels Landing was great. It really kicked my butt, I haven't been an avid worker-outer since I got hitched. Matt hates heights and steep cliffs but he didn't even show it on this hike. He just dominated it! Once we are the top we had a bit to eat and I was all ready to sit back and relax for a while but Matt just wanted to get back down to the ground though!

Here is us on the easy part of the way up...
Here are Walter's Wiggles - a series of 21 switchbacks about halfway up...
Here is one of the many narrow parts of the hike. Only about three feet across...
